M.Sc Environmental Resource Management (ERM)

 

PHILOSOPHY

The fundamental philosophy underlying the Masters of Science in Environmental Resources Management is the training of graduates with wide discipline hoping to have distinguished careers in the multi-disciplinary nature of Environmental issues. Global trends in the direction of environmental sustainability and the national aspiration for accelerated science and technology development call for institutional responses in the form of new programmes and strengthening of existing structures.

OBJECTIVES

The objectives of Masters of Science in Environmental Resources Management are to:

Give graduates a basic understanding of the various fields in environmental study.

Provide sound specialized and effective theoretical and practical knowledge in the field of environment.

Provide high skilled manpower with both academic and professional competence for tackling environmental issues in all their ramifications.

To conduct research into ways of controlling pollution in the State and into topical environmental issues.

To train and deploy resources for sustainable environmental practices and for the improvement of the quality of life on the earth.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

Minimum of five (5) ordinary level credit pass which must include mathematics and English language.

Holders of relevant first degree in sciences and social sciences based courses with a minimum of Second class Honours lower recognised by Lagos State University Senate.

GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS

DURATION

The Programme shall be for a minimum of four semesters.
