POSTGRADUATE DIPLOMA (ENVIRONMENTAL RESOURCE MANAGEMENT)

PHILOSOPHY

The environment is gaining increasing awareness on the account of it being a critical determinant of life on earth. The survival of the human race depends largely on how the environment is used or misused.

Philosophy behind the Postgraduate Diploma in Environmental Resource Management programme is to fill the gap in graduates’ deficiency in environmental Resource Management in some core areas, with a view to preparing them for higher degree in Environmental Resource Management.

OBJECTIVES

To prepare graduates to become environmental managers.

To inculcate right attitudes, knowledge, values and practices in environmental management.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

Minimum of five (5) ordinary level credit pass which must include Mathematics and English Language.

Holders of HND with a minimum of lower credit in sciences and social sciences based courses, recognised by Lagos State University Senate.

Holders of minimum of Third Class Honours degree in sciences and social sciences based courses recognised by Lagos State University Senate.

GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS

            DURATION

The Postgraduate Diploma shall be for minimum of two semesters.

COURSES REQUIRED

PGD Environmental Resource Management

First semester 21 24
Second semester 19 25
Total 40 49

In the first semester, students are to register for minimum of 21 units and maximum of 24 units which include the compulsory courses and ENV 732, ENV 721 and ENV 741.

In the second semester, students are to register for a minimum of 19 units and maximum of 25 units.

Pass all compulsory courses including project.

Complete and pass a minimum of 30 units.
